The revision of the works in"The Romance"(the enlarged edition) by Eileen Chang published by the Shanhe Books Company in Shanghai in November, 1946 resulted in a change of the semantic systems and the artistic systems of the original editions of these works. This thesis has analyzed the reason of the change based on the collation and criticism about the original editions published in magazines and the final editions of these works, and the change of the condition of Shanghai when in the anti-Japan War and after war, making the change of the editions of the 15 fictions as the studying object.Recently, with the development of the studying and the coming to the market of the concerned publications of Eileen Chang and her works, not only are Eileen Chang and her works classicized, also Eileen Chang is the focus of culture production under the control of commerce."Eileen Chang"loses its intrinsic abundant intension gradually, and becomes a culture symbol, interacting with kinds of factors of society and economy, brings out a"myth of Eileen Chang". Under the condition of filtering each other of commercial culture production and academic study, the historic sense of the study on Eileen Chang is covered, the serious academic study making for simpleness and stagnancy. The studying significance of this thesis is to find the historic sense of the study on Eileen Chang by reviewing the editions of her works and probing in the material history condition of these works'production and Eileen Chang's different action contrail in different condition. Meanwhile, by outlining the universal significance of the destiny of Eileen Chang's being molded, this thesis will provide some rewarding reference for the intellectuals today.This thesis's innovation lies in its new point of view of commencing from researching the editions of Eileen Chang's works and its new studying approach to construct the object from connection by exceeding the illusive opposition of duality and putting Eileen Chang in the culture condition of Shanghai when in the anti-Japan War and after war to discuss the interactive connection between her works, her habitus and the society condition to hold out the reasoning of this thesis.The main points and conclusion of this thesis are that the revision of the original works by Eileen Chang resulted in the change of the semantic systems and the artistic systems. From the point of the culture conditions of Shanghai when in the anti-Japan War and after war, her revision wasn't only resulted in by the change of her artistic ideal, also these editions were engulfed in different literature field and featured different marks of literature production. The reasons for the change of these editions are Eileen Chang's ideology strategy when faced with the different culture conditions, the result of the new rules of literature field entering Eileen Chang's habitus, and the result of the collusion between Eileen Chang and the new rules of the literature filed.
