| The fundamental aim of TCFL (Teaching Chinese as Foreign Language) is to cultivate foreign students'communication abilities with Chinese. Social address forms are widely and frequently used in people's speech communication and they are also necessary social behaviors in our society. And studies on social address forms can guide us to exert them and conclusion of social address can progress the development of theory and practice of TCFL greatly.This paper investigates circumstances of the foreign students'learning Chinese social address forms through the interview and questionnaire survey, while the students are ranging from primary level to advanced level .And this paper will be divided into three chapters:Introduction: this chapter can be divided into three parts: Part 1 mainly introduces the aim and significance of this paper and our purpose in this part is to make readers realize the value of our paper. And Part 2 mainly elaborates the history and current situation of studies on social address forms and the spadework of theory basis can be done through the introduction. The third part mainly introduces study methods and sources of language materials and interview, questionnaire survey and diagram are used together during writing the paper.The first chapter is the outline about Chinese social address forms and there are three sections in this chapter. The first section is introduction about definition and classification of social address forms. And the only definition and classification are concluded by analyzing all scholars'different ideas about them. And the second section is about features of social address forms which contain both culture and times. And the third section is about the factors which influence people's choices of social address forms when they are communicate with each other.The second chapter focuses on the investigation of how the foreign students use the social address forms. This chapter is also divided into three parts: the first part is the design of investigation which involves the choice of investigating methods, the formulation of questionnaire zone, the selection of investigating objects and the explanation of investigating process. The second is the analysis of investigation results which is the main body of the chapter. This part principally deals with five problems, that is, the examination of how the foreign students employ the social address forms, the investigation of to what extent they can accept the relatives address forms, the survey of what elements influence their choice of social address forms, the inquiry of what elements affect their acquiring of social address forms and the survey of to what extent they are satisfied about the textbooks. By the survey and analysis the situation in which the foreign students acquire and use the social address forms has been examined in this part. The third is the conclusion of investigation which generally summarizes what has been discussed. In addition, this part also analyzes the problems confronting the foreign students in the acquisition and application of the social address forms, so as to put forward some suggestions in terms of compiling textbooks, organizing classrooms and offering courses.The third chapter looks into the teaching of social address forms. It is composed of two parts: the first part chiefly discusses the causes of mistakes by the foreign students: the differences of values and the differences of cultural background. The second probes into the teaching methods of social address forms: cultivating their interests for study, taking advantage of after-class environment and valuing highly the introduction of culture.Conclusion: it concludes the whole paper and points out objectively some errors resulting from the limited investigation conditions.This paper draws some useful insights on the use of social address forms by foreign students and, I believe, that these conclusions can play an important role in TCFL. I also sincerely hope that this paper will serve others to study further on the subject. |
