The revelation effect occurs when items on a recognition test are more likely to be judged as being old if they are preceded by a cognitive task that involves the processing of similar types of stimuli. The revelation effect can be seen as a recognition result of the achievements role. This effect is completely different from another effect, perceptual interference effect is the finding that prior exposures to a more degraded stimulus inhibit its less degraded version's identification later, which is a inhibition of recognition results. The study of revelation effect is very enormous, but there is few study about Chinese words as a stimuli, and interpolated task of perceptual interference task. The study combine the revelation effect and the perceptual interference effect to make a added result to the theory. This study use Chinese as a stimuli, including Chinese words, Chinese non-word, Chinese two-character words, and a perceptual interference task as a interpolated task. This study is to investigate if there is a revelation effect of Chinese, and if the revelation effect will be affected by the viewing time and the starting point of the perceptual interference task.Experiment 1 examines the Chinese words revelation effect and the effect of different starting point for the perceptual interference task .Experiment 2 examines the revelation effect of non words. Experiment 3 examines the revelation effect of two-character words and the effect of different viewing time of perceptual interference task. The results show that:1. There is a revelation effect on Chinese words , and no effect on Chinese non words and two-character words. 2. The different starting points have no effect on revelation effect.3. The different viewing time have no effect on revelation effect.4. The revelation effect seems to be a all or nothing effect, only occur in a episodic judgments about the occurrence or frequency of relatively recent events.5. Existing theories can not explain all of the revelation effect, this study propose a correction model of decision criterion shift theory, that is, revelation effect is the result of the subjects estimation of a link between the revelation test and interpolated tasks, and the judgement of the declining standards of Results. Therefore the revelation effect is not the result of memory, but only memory phenomenon. Revelation effect has two premise, firstly, revelation effect only occurred in episodic memory tests, secondly, there must be some connection between the revelation task and the interpolated task.
