Guozhihong, a famous piano educator, performer, composer and professor in Central Conservatory of Music, has accomplished highly in music teaching, performing and composition, especially his composition of Chinese piano works has become a precious wealth of Chinese piano music and has drawn the world's attention. Some of Chinese piano works Guozhihong has created during his fifty years' career of piano composing are energetic, passionate, melodious, harmonious strongly inspiring and distinctly nationalized. Also, his works are designated to combine piano skills with music performance, hence having greatly promoted the training of students' piano skills and cultivation of music sense, which can embody their teaching value. Guo's nationalized piano works will enrich our country's piano music composition and strengthens the nationalization of piano music in China, hence becoming the masterpieces of China's nationalized piano music and being widely used in piano teaching and concerts, being an indispensable part of China's piano music works. Therefore, an analysis of Guo's piano works, especially a discussion on the nationalization of his piano works will play an important and academic role in learning the principal creating style and then can precisely gain a command of his works on the whole.This paper, taking "A Selected Collection of Guozhihong's Piano Works" published by Shanghai Music Press in April, 2005, for example, can , to a certain extent, reflect the fundamental creating ideas and embody the general creating style. Therefore, an analysis of and a study on these works can have a bird's view of the nationalization of Guo's piano music composition.This paper is composed of four parts, the first part being about the intruduction, and chiefly intruduce life story of composer, and the second part being about a sketch of his piano works' creation from three stages. Dividing this creation into three periods and discussing them separately can help to learn about the creating background and expression of piano works through all periods, which serves as the foundation of my paper for research. Part three is the main part of this paper, trying to discuss the nationalization (including melody, harmony, rhythm and performance) of Guo's piano works by analyzing the specific works and then summing up some of the nationalized creating style and ideas. The last part mainly summarizes Guo's nationalized piano works' contribution to China's piano works creation and its enlightening significance.
