On The Ethnical Characteristics Of Singing

China is a spacious multi-national country with a long history, and has created extremely glittering musical and artistic achievements in the long period of time. The change in each historical period, together with the various elements as language, society, economy, politics, producing methods, lifestyle, religion, aesthetics, customs, culture and art has exercised profound impact on the forming and developing of the singing art of China, and thus, the unique ethnical characteristics of China's singing art have come into being. Several millennia have witnessed the accumulation of volumes of songs, creation of the unique singing skills, formation of the ethnical characteristics of singing, and the important part it takes in the musical culture of China.This thesis could be divided into two parts: Chapter one is focused on the feature, deepening our knowledge on the definition of ethnical characteristics, so as to make a base for the discussion on this topic in the latter part. In Chapter two, the author digs into the elements forming the. ethnical characteristics of singing from different aspects, namely, from the periodical features, nationality, locality, style of the works, language, and personal singing characteristics, presenting a vivid picture of the ethnical characteristics of China's singing art before the readers.The world, as well as China, is developing, so is the singing art of China. This research analyzes the ethnical characteristics of singing, with an aim to demonstrate the ethnical singing art enduring thousands of years in an all-round way, bearing important value and meaning to the inheritance and promotion of China's ethnical singing art career.
