| Love as human beings eternal topic in the history of literature is one of the important issues and also be put the most of ink in Liao zhai zhi yi. Among the study works,Ma Ruifang has negative attitude.In my opinion,her point doesn't make sense,we couldn't ignore commendable love story of merchant. Through the analysis of marriage and love stories, the causes behind it can be explored as well as the ideological content and artistic characteristics. The paper is divided into three parts:The first part is to classify marriage and love stories of the merchants. There is a total of 29 stories of merchants'marriage and love in Liao zhai zhi yi, which are mainly divided into three types: loyal to the love, loyal to the benefit rather than love, loyal to the beauty rather than love. I will consider the attitude of merchants'marriage and love as main points of the analysis.The second part is mainly about the reasons of merchants'marital love stories. Firstly is economic reason, the economic development brings about improvement of merchants'status in the Ming and Qing Dynasties which affects the creative of Liao zhai zhi yi. Secondly is reason of cultural and ideological, during Ming Dynasty, emergence of'Perspective On Emotion'cause more conscious about'feeling'around literati,and it is an important factor of Pu Songling's great enthusiasm on this creation. Finally, the author personal reasons, Pu Songling's family background and personal experience also have a profound impact on the creation about the marriage love stories of merchants.The third part is analysis of the unique meaning and art of the marriage and love stories in Liao zhai zhi yi. Ideological content, when Pu Songling writes about marriage and love stories of the merchants, it also reveals some of his progressive ideas and concepts, the most representative of which is the strongly female consciousness. In the marriage and love stories of female merchants, the author demonstrats the courage of women protests and the desire to be autonomous and independent. Another aspect of ideological content of Pu Songling is construction about ideal marriage and love of Confucianism merchants to comfort defect of their mind. Pu Songling has also made a objective criticism about values on marriage and love of merchants,.Artistic features, it reveal art practices of huge difference within the same,idealized treatment of reality and romantic experience which bring about unique artistic charm of merchants'marriage and love stories in Liao zhai zhi yi.
