Henrik Ibsen is the great poet and dramatist in Norway. This paper chooses Ibsen's poetry as research object, which draws little attention to educational circles at home and abroad, and tries to combine the poetry with "Ibsenism", uses "Ibsenism" as a key to interpret Ibsen's poetry. And meanwhile, the author tries to use Ibsen's poetry as the concrete text to interpret "Ibsenism" that the author understand. However, the poetry the author refers to in this paper not only include Ibsen's poems but also include the poems in the play and the drama in his early writing stage; especially Brand and Peer Gynt which made him win the world reputation. The "Ibsenism" in Ibsen's poetry is an absolute concept of freedom with "egotism" and "spiritual revolution" as its core content, and it is also the artistic presentation of the discussion and thought to human's living condition. The "egotism" that Ibsen adheres to is Ibsen's personality, that is, individualism. In this paper, it mainly expresses in three aspects: be faithful to oneself and achieve oneself; insist personality and anti-group; rebuke lies and advocate truth. Besides, whether it is altruism is the real watershed between the "egotism" in Ibsen's poetry and self-centered thought. The "spiritual revolution" that Ibsen proposes is actual the concept of freedom based on petty-bourgeois stand, which shows its spiritual, rebellious and whole characteristics in three aspects. However, the "Ibsenism" in the paper not only presents a positive way, it also implies some negative meaning. Ibsen denies selfish self-centered thought, while "egotism" heroes irrefutably sacrifices other's interests and unintentionally being the executioner of strangling other's happiness in the process of pursuing freedom. Ibsen's pursuit of freedom is absolute, while the purpose of rebellion is empty, which leads rebellion being an aimless rebellion. Ibsen always exaggerates individual's independence, and even prides it as a noble medal, but he has to realistically shape these lonely individual as victims of tragic destiny. The characters in Ibsen's poetry always in dilemma, whatever choices they make, there must be some regretful abandon and sacrifice. The "Ibsenism" that Ibsen advocates in his poetry has its formation origin, which is the final result of the combination of the inheritance of western freedom thoughts, of the long influence of the special historical humanity tradition in Norway, and of peculiar personal experiences.
