Kang Youwei is one of representatives of modern China, who Sought for the ruth of making China strong by learning from the west in the ate 19th century. As a thought initiator, he played an important role in the change of modern ethic. Apart from spreading and learning from modern ethic theory, he tries to design modern ethic which is fit for Chinese situation on the base of Confucian ethic. It' s a common cultural phenomenon existing in many modern culture celebrities characterized by spreading west ethic theory at their early stages but turning back to support feudal ethics at their late stages. As a result of what mentioned above, studying Kang Youwei' s ethic theory is not only good to explore o the history of modern Chinese ethic, but good to understand the change of it.The thesis consists of three parts: Chapter One explores the occurrence of Kang Youwei' s ethic, it' s background and development; Part Two discusses the main ideas of his ethic including Natural Humanity of "human nature without good and evil" , The principle wants view of "Goes to the pain to strive for happy" , Humanitarian ism ethics view of " liberty, equality and love" and the ethic norm of Datong ideal society. And the last part is evaluation of Kang Youwei' s ethic including generality of his times and it' s value.
