Zhao Wuji has devoted his whole life to painting—the painting in his own heart, which has guided him to make the most important choice in life, that is, to paint in color and space early in the morning everyday. Thus he gains the greatest happiness which also contains discourage and tiredness for his painting has always been an expression of his inner feelings - there is undulation, reservation, nostalgia and freedom. Zhao is unfortunate in his early days' wondering away from home and the suffering of loss of love, relatives and friendship. He is also fortunate for he created a new symbol of Chinese art and was recognized by both the academy and the market. Then what is the real reason that his works of art can remain alive during the developing of the world culture? "To stand my own test. "—that is the answer Zhao gave to this question which is , in my opinion, the real consciousness and responsibility of an artist.This essay mainly discusses the painting art of Zhao from three aspects—his art experience, his art spirit and painting concept and the value and achievement of his art. In Chapter One of this essay his life experience and the five stages of his painting road is introduced and the synthetically factors forming Zhao' s painting characteristics are analyzed. Chapter Two mainly discusses Zhao' s art concept, creative command, influence and the critics' angel of the world art field. In Chapter Three the factors contributing Zhao wuji' s painting art is concluded which brings to young painters a real knowledge of Zhao' s art and a direction for the exploration of artists and art educators.
