The Historical Geography Study Of Laoshan Taoism

This paper mainly studies the Laoshan Taoism by the perspective of historical geography . To study the history of the development of Taoism in Qingdao We can discuss the relations between Taoism and Laoshan area's unique geographic environment through the different historical periods of the Taoist basic situation.Religion is a study of the three basic elements of human geography. Taoism,as China's native religion, is a part of important targets of China's human geography .Of course, the Laoshan Taoism, as one of the major schools of China Taoist, is particularly worthing to study. This article focuses on the titles of Taoist spread, development and geographical distribution. Including: firstly, the history of the development of Taoism in Laoshan. This part includes three stages of Laoshan Taoist develement. Through the charts of Wanli period, the Qing Emperor period and the early of Minguo (1939), We can reflect the number and distribution of Taoist temples in Laoshan .We can also reflect the importance of the Taoism in Laoshan area,which makes this study important and meaningful. Secondly, the spatial distribution of Taoism in Laoshan. This part includes the harmony relation of Taoist temples and Laoshan and also the spatial distribution of Taoism in Laoshan. We can discuss the relation of Laoshan's environment and the geographical position of Taoist Temples by the studying of Laoshan Taoist distribution. So we can aggregate the development trend of Laoshan Taoism. Thirdly, we should discuss the important incident–"The dispute of Buddhism and Taoism". The development of Taoism is very smoothly and quickly before Wanli period. Taoism was attacked by"The dispute of Buddhism and Taoism"in Wanli period. But because of the victory in"The dispute of Buddhism and Taoism",Taoism in Laoshan was developing quickly than before. So we want to know the reasons of this result. We discuss the reasons form the distribution of Taoist temples and human geography in Laoshan.Through this studies, we can clearly discuss that the close relationship between the Laoshan Taoism as a religious phenomenon's spatial distribution and the geography environment.
