Research On The Headstream Of The Numeral Divination

The study of numeral divination has been an important research subject in the fields of Zhou Yi and archeology since 1980s. Former researches mainly focused on the explanation and recovery of the divinatory trigram, so there is no study about the users of the divination and their clan, and few researches have been done on the headstream of the divination.Based on collecting related materials comprehensively and listing systematically and through a study of the excavation place of the divination, this thesis discuss the users of the divination trigrams and their clans and study the headstream of the divination under the connotation of archeology.At first, the author collects related documents and materials discovered in the archeology systematically. Then, based on these materials, the author makes a combination of the historical data and archeological materials and finds that the split of the San Miao Clan, their migration route and the excavation place tally with each other closely. So this thesis aims to prove that the divination trigrams are the divination notes of San Miao Clan and their descendants, then the headstream of the divination can be discovered. This thesis demonstrates that "Zhou Yi" is a mature form in the development of the divination.Finally, the thesis expounds the divination methods in different stages and the macrocosm value and its psychological connotation reflected in divination through a analysis of the changes and developments of divination trigrams and methods.The purpose of this thesis is to discover the headstream of divination and provide materials and evidence for the study of "Zhou Yi" with a study of the divination material and the users and their clans of the divination.
