The object of this paper is Coushu when beginning with LiuBang as an emperor, the founders of the Han Dynasty, ending with WangMang usurper; because Coushu during the Western Han Dynasty is a mature style, its own commitment can't be replaced by other styles. The study of Coushu for this period of time, the style emerged obvious change from infrequent straight character to the characteristics of elegant mellow. Exploring the origins and changes of Coushu's style, it reflected loading the unique ideological and cultural connotation at different times. However, the current academic research on the Western Han Dynasty's Coushu are less than what we have expected. Moreover, the emphases on the Coushu focus on the characteristics of the art. Compared that, the number of research in the fields of culture is very rare. In the view of this, the selected topic aimed to discuss from literatural and cultural perspective. This paper is divided into four chapters:The first chapter reflects the origin of Coushu and connotation defined. The article put the subject under study-Coushu in a brief combing about the rheological situation from the pre-Qin to Han Dynasty. The content of topic is defined and founding that it is synonym of the same phenomenon.The second chapter shows that the early Coushu of Western Han Dynasty displayed the theme of orientation and characteristics of the times. First, the creation of the early Han Dynasty's Coushu was sorted. Coushu during this period of history were displayed around with the theme of reflection of humanistic concern. Especially, humane care must be clearly reflected among it. The prominent characteristic of Coushu during this period–Congguangchicheng's legacy of the warring states was inquired as well as infrequent straight characteristics of the formation.The third chapter maily tells the Coushu in the middle of Western Han Dynasty had gained development and evolution. The kinds of scholars in Hanwudi-ruled period were diverse. For example, there is still a legacy of the Political Stratergists Scholars; there is to extol the style of Emperor; there is content of Coushu as ZhangQian who had gone to the Western Regions; besides, Coushu to a letter from the Dogfangshuo sacral and the characteristics of the recommended himself to create a tendency, and so on. This is a broad mind, the magnanimous attitude of the times, Coushu had reached unprecedented heights in quantity and cultural vision. During this period, the main contents of Coushu as well as its style are clearly showing a trend of development and evolution, including two kinds of different styles to cross. In part, Coushu also remained the characteristics of the Warring States policymakers'legacy in the early Han Dynasty, but not in exactly the same style of the early; furthermore, existing great differences. The dominant style of Coushu during the medium-term of Western Han Dynasty is to change the Congguangchicheng to elegance, change the variable tension to fair riding characteristics. The third quarter of article are emphasized on the question of relationship between Coushu and Jingxue.The fourth chapter is obviously displayed that the late Coushu of Western Han Dynasty had emerged new changes. By studying the creative situations of Coushu in the late period of Western Han Dynasty , unique cultural phenomenon had displayed during this time. In this period,"Saying of Catastrophist"was very popular, mostly invoked by Chenzi justice, Catastrophist to shangshu as to the purpose of remonstrance-jun. The origin and significance of this phenomenon were illustrated. The changed issues about Lizhi in the late Western Han Dynasty were discussed, which were different from the former ceremony. Basically, the former Lizhi were oriented at the ceremony level, as a modification of the political system. And then scholars are already at the system as a political system itself. They were believing that"a certain ritual, the world is being",but ultimately, these failed to save the decline and fall of the Western Han Dynasty's destiny.
