The purpose of this study was to discuss the status of self-worth, attribution style and affective well-being of college students in Hebei province, and to explore their relationships. The objective of the present study was to provide data and references for the studies of self-worth.870 college students of 6 college schools were surveyed in the areas of Hebei by the means of stratified cluster sampling. Three scales which included Self-worth Scale, Multidimensional-multiattributional causality scale, and Positive-negative affect Scale were used. The self-worth situation of college students was explored first, and then we discussed the relationship among self-worth, attribution style and affective well-being. Lastly we built up the model of self-worth, attribution style and affective well-being.the main findings were as following:1 The level of college students' self-worth were higher than the middle on the whole; the students prefer to impute results to capacity and effort; they experienced more positive affect than negative affect.2 Multifactor variant analysis showed that the main effect on different types of self-worth was significant in major, and the liberal art students' self-worth was higher than the science students.3 Correlational analysis showed that self-worth was positively related to positive affect and effort, whereas it was strongly negatively related to negative affect, situation and chance; positive affect was positively related to effort, negative affect was positively related to situation and chance, and was strongly negatively related to effort.4 Attribution style and affective well-being could significantly predict self-worth. Effort and positive affect could positively predict self-worth, background and negative affect could negatively predict self-worth.5 Attribution style had an directly impact on self-worth, meanwhile the influence of attribution style on self-worth were partly mediated by affective well-being. We can conclude from the main findings that the level of college students' self-worth were higher than the middle on the whole; self-worth was closely related to attribution style and affective well-being; affective well-being was an important mediator between self-worth and attribution style.
