The Study Of Young People's Domain Discrimination

The domain theory is a new direction of moral psychology after the era of Piaget and Kohlberg. The symbol of its birth is the book of Elliot Turiel"Social knowledge development: Morals and custom" (The development of social knowledge: Morality and convention). In the domain theory"the domain"includes:"morality","social convention","personal issue"as well as overlaped and mixed domain. The individual formed the different domain in the process to use certain judgment standard and the judgment reason, also we may obtain the structure which the individual domain formed through inspected these judgment standards and the judgment reason. Our article arranges the situation story fragment, the judgment standard, the judgment reason to inspect the young people domain discrimination. Our participants are from Shanghai and LiaoNing, containing the elementary school third grade to the university second grade altogether 473 people. We use SPSS to count the processing, the analysis method is mainly the variance analysis and the regression analysis. Our findings indicate:(1) According to the domain fundamental research model, this research indicates that under China cultural context, individual exists domain discrimination.(2) On seven judgment standards, young students have not been able to make the discrimination completely to the domain, but the older students are more proficient in the domain discrimination. This indicates that along with the age growth, the individual social experience accumulates unceasingly, social norm's study strengthens unceasingly, the self-awareness unceasingly is also strengthening, these possibly enable the individual to be able to differentiate the social life in each domain. Its performance's tendency is:"Personal issue"domain - -"Moral"domain - -"Social"domain(3) Young people use the corresponding reason in the different domain, namely, they have formed the corresponding social cognition structure. (4) Age has the very important forecast strength to judgment standards of each domain. from overall, the non-only child, the female, people who have the religious belief background, people whose mother receive low income, people whose mother's education level is low, people with the traditional personality, people who are more be good at getting on well with others , they appear to pay more attention to the moral rule, the social tradition, not too makes widely known.
