The Features Of China English And Chinese-English Translation Of Neologisms In Current Affairs

English has already developed into an international language. Research on the varieties of English and their societies, cultures and cognition have become an important subject in the realm of international linguistic studies. China English is an outcome language that combines English with Chinese social culture. Because of the influence of Chinese culture, the thinking modes of the Chinese people and their own physiological condition, China English differs from Standard English and have some distinct Chinese characteristics. From the 1980s, some linguists such as Wang Rongpei, Li Wenzhong, Xie Zhijun, etc. have made some studies on China English from different angles, but few of them made systematic research on translation theories and methods about current affair neologisms in China English. This thesis probes into the inner causes (internationalization and localization) of the forming of China English from the point of language variety and further analyzes the features of it, such as redundancy, number plus keyword and make-up word. Lastly, some translation methods of how to translate Chinese current affair neologisms are introduced, such as literal translation, free translation, transliteration, loan translation, back translation, etc.
