Marine Society And Faith Briefs In The South Of Fujian

Folk beliefs have been popular in the south of Fujian province since the ancient times. And the marine society formed by marine factor improves the exchange between folk beliefs and social development as well as cultural mentality. Thus, it turns out to be an important clue for our inspection of the development process in the region. This essay explores the development of the marine society, especially that of typical marine region, Dongshan Island, with time as the key study link and the change and enlargement of Kuan Kung's faith function as the key study line. Since the reform and opening up of our country, the government and non-government organizations promote the Kuan Kung faith development continuously in Dongshan Island from their point of view and needs with the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the folk beliefs in the south of Fujian province. And the change of the organizers and the name of the cultural festival during the 17th session of the Kuan Kung Cultural Festival is another example for us to understand the folk beliefs more rationally in the new period.
