This paper describes the prosperity and decline of Antwerp through the views of the modern history between the 16th and 17th century. It discusses how the city's three elements such as security, sacred and business influence Antwerp' prosperity and decline. The modern history includes the Opening of the New Route, Renaissance, Reformation and Ant-Reformation and this view about economy, region and art. The method of the paper is contacting the macro and microscopic through many aspects as population, technology, environment, traffic, business, method of the life, community, concepts and the people in the city of Antwerp between the 16th and 17th century. This paper deeply shows this period in Antwerp to give the good experiences.
