Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier works are respected as the Old Testament in music. It's well-know that for reason of the undeveloped notation in Baroque, some publishers always corrected, modified or even falsified the music on the score. All this fact leads that some editions which differ from the autograph scores or even break the original purpose of musicians are popularized on the market. The works of Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier confronts the same situation.According to the musical analysis, the historical material of the work and the recording of famous pianists, this thesis focuses on the reasonable analysis of the differences in metre, rhythm, tempo marks, dynamics marks, articulation marks and ornament marks of nine editions from the Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier work BWV874.There is nothing on the expressive-term from the editor in Wiener urtext edition , Budapest urtext edition and Henle edition. The three editions maybe approach authentic autograph of Bach. There are a number of valuable footnotes in Bischoff edition. The articulation marks and tempo marks are reasonable in this edition. The characteristic in Majorlini edition is the suggestion on the assimilating dotted notes to triplets. The dynamics marks and articulation marks are unreasonable. A great deal of gradation dynamic is the most unreasonable in Bartok edition. The metre, dotted notes and ornament mark are unreasonable in Czerny edition. The dynamic marks in Litolff edition are more reasonable. Most mark of Short edition are reasonable except dynamic marks and trill marks. In the end, the thesis studies the characteristics of the nine editions in the other works of Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier. There are some suggestions about the dynamics marks, articulation marks and ornament marks in Well-Tempered Clavier works.
