| This paper concerns the study of ideological function played by intertextuality on the basis of previous studies of intertextuality and CDA. And it connects the present study with Halliday's systemic-functional grammar ,cognitive model theories and relevant theories from other scholars, like Fairclough, Thompson, Hasan, etc. Since intertextuality showed its first appearance and CDA established its international fame, scholars have made many achievements on the relevant research. However, due to the short history of the study of intertextuality in CDA, till now, there are still a lot of areas to explore and investigate. Even more, among scholars in this area, seldom has made researches from the perspective of cognitive model theories. This paper analyzes different genres of discourse through three-dimensional analytical method, which mainly comes from Fairclough's three-dimensional theoretical framework and Thompson's methodological framework of depth hermeneutics, in the hope of laying the present study on systemic and sound theoretical foundations. In order to increase the validity and reliability of this research, this paper adopts qualitative method combined with introspective method, and theoretical explanations. Two hypotheses are proposed in this paper: 1. intertextuality serves to transfer the current speaker's ideology rather than the source speaker's; 2. the function of ideology transfer caused by intertextuality is better realized by changing the addressee's current cognitive model. Theoretically, this study will enrich and push forward the development of the studies of intertextuality, CDA and other relevant fields, such as social semiotics, sociolinguistics, pragmatics, etc.; practically, it will help improve people's sensitive ability to ideological meaning implicated by intertextuality in discourse. In Chapter 5, the author further testifies the feasibility of the hypotheses raised in this paper from the perspective of register theory. And in Conclusion, the author summarizes the study of intertextuality in CDA in this paper, and also the limitation of this dissertation and the possible further study related are mentioned. |
