Creation of Shift is effected by Zuo zhuan.A lot of material in Shi ji orginates from Zuo zhuan.Comparing Shi ji with Zuo zhuan,the writer finds that there are many common ground and differences when Shift cites the material of Zuo zhuan:(1) Shift cuts the material of Zuo zhuan;(2) Shi ji sums up the material of Zuo zhuan;(3) Shi ji basically quotes the original text of Zuo zhuan or adopts the original intention of Zuo zhuan;(4) Shi ji adds words in order to embody the intention of the writer of Zuo zhuan;(5) There are some differences between Shi ji and Zuo zhuan in detail;(6) There are some discrepancies between the material of Shi ji and Zuo zhuan;(7) Another special case is that we can find,derivations and seeds of some explanations or aeceptations in Shift from Zuo zhuan.Through contrast and anglysis,the writer fmds that Shi ji shows the following characteristics when it cites the material ofZuo zhuan:(1) Shi ji shows the unique thinking position of called Si Maqian a great historian in ancient China;(2) Shi ji uses different narrative order;(3) Shi ji pays attention to true history and artistic treatment; (4) Shi ji shows the aesthestic standard of loving vagaries of the man Si Maqian;(5) Language in Shi ji is more popular.
