Wang Rong (467-493), a representative writer of Yong Ming literature, was born in LangYa, Linyi in today's Shandong province. He was among the Jingling Eight Friends and was one of the initiators of Yong Ming School.Wang's family in LangYa was distinguished for generations, but declined till his father. Wang Rong, who was ambitious and desired to develop his family at an early age, showed his talent and never hided his ambition. In Yong Ming 11 when Emperor Xu Wu was seriously ill, he intended to appoint Xiao Zi Liang as emperor but failed, as a result, he was sent to the prison and killed. Many scholars believe that Wang Rong's failure is due to his eagerness for power. Seldom discussed, his poems and papers haven't been attached enough importance.Considering his personality, his family, the time background as well as his meaning at that time, Research on Poems and Papers by Wang Rong surveys Wang Rong and his works afresh and gives an impartial and overall account.Wang Rong: ambitious at an early age, aggressive, provident, conspicuous and faithful. His political theses are not only the essays of scholars but also the ones of tactician, putting forward some effective strategies to solve the national problems.Wang Rong's poems: elegant with time feature and plain themes, but as one of initiators of Yong Ming School, Wang Rong can't still be undervalued.Wang Rong can't be neglected in the history of tumultuous Qi Liang; He greatly graced the slack field of literature at that time. Moreover, his poems enriched the field of poem, making contributions to its development.
