Religious and political integration is a prominent characteristic of American history. The relation between politics and religion of Massachusetts Bay Colony is a typical representative, the impact of this theocracy system is far-reaching of the United States. This paper focuses on the theocracy system of Massachusetts Bay Colony, inquires into the origin of the theocracy, the system of politics and religion to the rise and decline, and the reasons for the change, also explores the impact of the changes of the system of theocracy on the development of the history.The introduction mainly reviews the studies about the theocracy system of Massachusetts Bay Colony, and confirms the research approach and the relevant methods and theory.The text is divides into five parts:Part one, the origin of the theocracy system in Massachusetts Bay Colony, which concludes three aspects. That is, from congregationalism system of Britain to congregationalism system of North America; the function and status of British religion have influence on Massachusetts Bay Colony; ideological of British religious persecution effect on Massachusetts Bay Colony.Part two, the expression of the system of Massachusetts Bay Colony, which contains five aspects. Including, ideological of theocracy system; religion autocracy and exclusion heterodoxy; the domination of theocracy leaders; religious beliefs on the impact of social status; the election qualification of pilgrims.Part three, the decline of the theocracy system in Massachusetts Bay Colony, which consists of three aspects: the disillusionment of puritan ideal; church canon law was dashed; the decrease of theocracy leaders.Part four, Massachusetts colonial system of politics and religion of the reasons for the decline, consisting of the arrival of multi-religious belief immigrants, the impact of economic development, and indifferent to religious values, Enlightenment and the Great Awakening movement has shaken the foundation of politics and religion.Part five, the understanding and evaluation of the system of theocracy in Massachusetts Bay Colony, which comprises two aspects. Namely, the basic characteristics of Massachusetts Bay Colony and evaluation of Massachusetts Bay Colony.The last part is the conclusion, which summarizes this paper and tries to make objective and complete the system of Massachusetts Bay Colony issue.
