Research On The Landscape-Sculpture Design In Universities Based On The Civilization Orientation

The innovation in Chinese education and the increasing amount of students in its campuses leads to the scale of the higher education becomes big quickly. The area of campuses becomes bigger and bigger, the amount of teaching buildings becomes more and more. But the constructing of humanities Landscape doesn't keep up with them.The humanities Landscape is very important to campus. As this reason, many universities start to expedite the constructing of humanities Landscape which can beautify the environment and enhancement the atmosphere of civilization. Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) is one of them. Writher has participated in the project to design humanities landscape in HUST.Civilization is the essence of the humanities landscape. The humanities landscape must exhibit its civilization. As the most important part of the humanities landscape, the landscape-sculpture is the best art form to exhibit the civilization. This dissertation is written to research on the civilization orientation of the landscape-sculpture design in universities. It could be provided with some practicality nowadays.To find the civilization orientation well and truly, the civilization factors about the landscape-sculpture design in universities are compartmentalized to three parts: the core factors of civilization in the clime,the core factors of campus-culture and the core factors of culture in special terrain in universities. The writher has analyzed how the three parts affects the landscape-sculpture design in universities. Three parts are three levels too.Being enlightened by the procedure and method on the product design, the writher brings forward a procedure and method on the landscape-sculpture design in universities which is based on the three levels. The three levels of the civilization orientation are the core and the soul of the procedure and method. The three levels of the civilization has been considered in the design investigate step,the design orientation step,the design idea step and the design evaluation step of the procedure and method. It can increase the civilization pertinence of the landscape-sculpture design in universities and the probability of the project's success.In the last chapter, the writer records the processes about the project of designing the landscape-sculpture in HUST. It could validate this procedure and method is feasible.
