Comments And Analysis Of Douglas Kellner's 'the Techno-capitalism'

The transmitting and study of Maxism have lasted for nearly a century in China,and the researches of the contemporary Marxism also have a history of nearly three decades. After the drastic changes in Eastern Europe,the world socialist movement was at a low ebb, while the study of abroad Marxism had going through the pains and adjustments for a period of time, but it did not keep that quiet. The analysis of Marxism, post-Marxism, Marxist Studies, dialectics of Marxism, ecology Marxism, Marxist feminist, market socialism, radical political economy, liberation theology, neo-Marxist cultural criticism, literature study of Marx and Engels, classic figures and thoughts of Western Marxism have risen to flourish. Moreover, there are many previous Marxist because of the system,the concept and other factors to give up the study, while at the same time, a group of leading philosophers and thinkers such as Derrida, Giddens, Habermas, Rorty and so on, now turn to concerned with the Marxism.Especially since the new century, with the implementation of Neoliberal policies in the United States and the new changes in global capitalism, the contemporary Marxists start to explore and study all types of new problems and new researches, and have done a certain degree of critical reflection on the communist tradition and experience of the 20th century. This will require the domestic and foreign Marxism researchers to follow-up study and to comment correctly on the new theories, new ideas, new thoughts and new schools.this paper Select contemporary American critical theorist Douglas Kellner " The techno-capitalism" theory as a starting point, combining with Kellner's unique critical social theory , the reconstruction theory, globalization theory , post-modern theory and Marxism, to have a comparison and study. And the writer tries to drive a combination of contemporary Chinese situation and the socialist modernization of China with the Kellner's the " techno-capitalism" theory ,and also tries to research on its practical significance to modernization. This will help us to grasp a more comprehensive development masterstroke of the Kellner's theory, so as to grasp the overall ideological of Kellner and lay a solid foundation for further research. The correct grasp of the historical background is a supporting basis of our analysis to the "techno-capitalism" theory from the times angle.The second part of this paper is the main part of the full paper. This part describes a modern capitalist society systemically and detailed of kellner's—"techno-capitalism". Through the interpretation of Kellner's unique perspectives of globalization, it will reflect the development trend of capitalism and the development of his "techno-capitalism" theory. Enable us to study the theory with their understanding and grasp the forward-looking.The fourth part of this paper can be understood as the analysis and elaboration of the practical significance in the "technology of capitalism" theory. We can see the analyzing from the current situation in our country and abroad to the history of the research state to the Marxism, and the contemporary role of Kellner's "techno- capitalism" theory for China's modernization. Although, the "techno-capitalism" theory is not well-known theory of Kellner's own writings, but his insights and analysis of the new period and new changes of capitalism is better for us to face the problems of economic globalization, better development, exploration and innovation in today's world. It is also better for China's Marxist theory to inspired new ideas and explore the new thinking.The full content of this paper did not always focus on the "techno-capitalism" theory as the its core vocabulary: the technology. While, it is from a historical perspective, the direction of Marxist methodology, the related comprehensive aspects and theory to analyze Kellner's "techno-capitalism" theory systematically and interpretatively. It shows us from the surface to the deep-rooted of the source of the theory; from a theoretical background to the future development trends; from the core values of constructivism theory to the theory of interaction with other combination; from the longitudinal development of the time to the horizontal extension of space; from a theoretical analysis to the exploration and use of the theory in practice. These process from one to many, from simple to complex made us not only to grasp the "techno-capitalism" theory of Kellner vividly, but also to understand the overall theory of Kellner.However, such research is only a small part in the foreign Marxism.This experience has shown us that there is a long way to go in the research of Marxism.But the more we continue to explore and interpret foreign Marxism, the more complex and rich ideas and theoretical awareness of the importance and joy we get . This joy will inspire Marxism researchers to achieve greater progress continously, and drive to create sustainable development force and scientific development factors for China's modernization.
