This year happens to be the 30th anniversary of the death of Zha Liangzheng, a great poetand translator in China. Zha wrote poems in the name of Mu Dan while he used his realname Zha Liangzheng when he translated. For decades, especially since Zha passed awayin 1977, studies on Mu Dan's poetry have gradually become a hot spot while ZhaLiangzheng's translation studies have been relentlessly ignored. While the internationaltranslation studies have undergone a culture turn over the recent decades, more and moreattention has been shifted towards culture studies of translation. Even though over yearssome scholars have put emphasis on the study of Zha's text translation, it was far fromenough for studies into Zha's translation phenomenon. This thesis is supposed to be thefirst of its kind to study Zha's poetry translation by applying a polysystem approach fromthe perspective of culture turn.In Chapter I, the author is to give an overall review on Zha's poetry translation studies inChina by comparing with that of Mu Dan's poetry writing. The second chapter aims to givean introduction on the studies of Zha's poetry translation. The third and the fourth chaptersare to introduce the culture turn and tend to probe into Zha's translation by using apolysystem approach. The last chapter raises questions worthy of further study based onthis thesis.
