Category learning is one of the most important aspects of cognitive psychology. Especially nowadays, category research plays an important role in international psychology research. Category learning is the way of obtaining category representation. Mechanism of procession of category learning is the mechanism of procession of mode forming. The result of category learning is the form of category representation. It could be applied to several aspects of human cognition. It is the foundation of some basic cognitive capability such as attention, memory, classification, decision-making, problem-solving and reasoning. Family resemblances category is the usual forming in category learning. The changing of manner of category learning and category dimensionality has influences on category learning. Our research uses two means of category learning, classification learning and inference learning. They have some common on learning form, but they have some differences on information-processing. Different types of category learning lead to different category representations. Classification is a kind of inductive inference and its learners are highly sensitivity to diagnostic features between categories and possibility to learn exemplar, whereas inference learning is a deductive process and its learners are focus on within-category information and possibility to learn prototype. Our research investigated the influence of the feature relation and the feature position on the category learning when the category members was on the condition of two dimensions. The 112 subjects who consisted of the second grade under-graduates in Tianjin Normal University were tested after learning the category materials with different feature structures. The unit amount and the error percentage during the learning phase and the reaction time and the error percentage during the testing phase were counted. Our research discussed the differences between the same features across two dimensions and the matched features across two dimensions when the category members was on the two means of category learning. Our research investigated the differences between the feature position across two near dimensions and the feature position across two separate dimensions when the category members was on the two means of the category learning. Our research explored the differences between the classification learning and the inference learning when the category members was on the condition of feature relation and feature position across two dimensions. Our research also discussed the mental mechanism of the influence of feature relation and feature position across two dimensions on category learning combining some related cognitive processes. The main results are elaborated as follows.1. When the category members had the same features across two near dimensions , the classification learning and the inference learning was advanced.2. The classification learning and the inference learning was not advanced when the category members had the matched features across two dimensions, or the same features across two separate dimensions.3. The classification learning was more easily than the inference learning on acquiring the feature rules between category members across two dimensions.
