| Faking in the employment interview is deceive Impression Management or the conscious distortion of answers to the interview questions in order to obtain a batter scores on the interview and/or create favorable perceptions.This research discussed the structure of job seeker's interview faking behavior and its influencing factors in China,using positive method of psychology.More specially,based on literature studying,focus-group study and open-questionnaires,we collected scale items which formed the initial scale.We revised the scale through pretest and item analysis,and finally got the formal scale.After giving out questionnaires,we got a four-factor structure of interview faking behavor by EFA and we conformed the structure by CFA.We also examined the relationship between interview faking behavior and related variables.At last,the influence of demographics was tested on the four factors.The results are as follows:1.Job seeker's interview faking behavior in China is made up of four factors:Fitness Promotion,Good Image Creation,Experience Change and Ingratiation2.Analysis on Interview Faking Behavior Questionnaire indicate that the reliability and validity of the scale were high enough.3.Job seekers' Machiavellianism & Self-monitoring influenced Interview Faking Behavior. Self-monitoring has partial mediate effect on Machiavellianism and Interview Faking Behavior.4.Five demographic variables,gender,age,educational level,major,the times of interview that job seeker took part in,have significant effects on Interview Faking Behavior. |
