| Yang Wanli is one of the representatives in the study on The Book of Changes. Chengzhaiyizhuan, whose books use the method of "putting Shiji into Classic of Changes" , and summarize the physical history experience to explain the metaphysical changes, and finally generate unique study of history changes. Different from the traditional ideas of "talking Way of Heaven except people ", Yang Wanli's ideas of "talking people except the Way of Heaven" realize the perfect combination of physics and metaphysics.The study on The Book of Changes flourished in the Song Dynasty, whether the books or the representatives, Song lies above the other dynasties. There was a discourse system of the study on The Book of Changes,in which Yang Wanli was effected. Also, Yang Wanli'father and his teachers inspired him too much. Yang Wanli,who learned from Cheng Yi and Cheng Hao was not content to be a literati,but wanted to be one who knew Confucianism,and made use of seventeen years to finish his book Chengzhaiyizhuan.Yang Wanli considered Book of Changes written by Sage, and thought that the purpose of Sage was to copy the rationale for the world, which made the Sage'thoughts authoritative. Yang Wanli paid close attention to the relation between Way and yin and yang like others,and considered Way to be the base of yin and yang. This cogitation supports the metaphysical foundation for "Consistent of Rationale and Thing", and puts the Way of Heaven to concrete human affairs. Way displays in different areas,and it shows the Jun-chen relations in political area.In order to explain the methods of governning the country in Book of Changes, Yang Wanli compared the stability and chaos in the history, analyzed the reasons, and successfully made principle explanation for the methods of governning country. Toillustrate the Jun-chen relations, Chengzhaiyizhuan used method of with historicalevents to interpret classic and divinatory symbols to explain it.Chengzhaiyizhuan summarized the history experience, and compared it with what yin and yang is to be Way, and realized the combination of history and Book of Changes. Furthermore, it drew the thoughts of traditional Confucianism to a more practical direction. Emphasize on the methods of governning country made his political Philosophy more rational,and the concern with history gave his thoughts more pactical contents. However, as a result of a departure from the tendency of the research on Way, Chengzhaiyizhuan remains in the "operation" level, and makes itself lack of prospects for a broad study. |
