The Research About Chinese Euphemism On Cognition Principle

In each nationality's language there is one special language variation phenomenon, each person cannot leave it in the life, this is euphemism.The related euphemism's research specially were many in recent years, these research were carried on mainly from semantics, the social linguistics, the rhetoric the psychology, or the pragmatics angle.Different with the former predecessor's research, this article mainly takes Chinese euphemism as a verbal message system, the prototype-category system, seeking for the basis from the cognition linguistics.According to the peculiaroty of Chinese euphemism in the verbal message system, using the prototype - category system and the metaphor, the metonymy cognition pattern I make the careful analysis, and has been pointing out Chinese euphemism change finally and the mobility, as well as its compatible principle.This article regards Chinese euphemism as one kind of cognition activity, one thinking mode, but no longer merely regards it as one simple language phenomenon, because it, in the cognition and the application aspect's particularity had decided it in the Chinese special status, along with the cognition linguistics's gradual development, will come from the cognition linguistics's angle to the euphemism to carry on the explanation also to obtain the more research results.This article takes "Chinese Euphemism Dictionary" (Beijing Language Culture University Publishing house 1996) (online edition) as the main language materials originates by Mr. Zhang Gonggui.also takes the Beijing University Chinese linguistics Research center CCL corpus retrieval system, The article is divideed into four parts to carry on the discussion, and the end also propose something this article hasn't discuss.
