Content: Foreign literature masterpieces are the precipitation of outstanding culture in the process of the literature's development. They are the highlights of the literature and also the important content of college's foreign literature teaching. Nevertheless, under the modern and rapid-rhythm way of life and in the impact of colorful audio-visual enjoyment, students are not very enthusiastic in reading by text. And at the same time teaching of foreign literature is subjected to unprecedented impact. Many students love movies, and according to this, a number of teachers take the form of movie-teaching which is a useful way besides the traditional way of literature teaching, but it should not be simply copied or even get rid of the latter form. This thesis reviews the relationship between movie and literature from the angle of literature. Based on the Creative Treason theory of Translation Studies in Comparative Literature, I will choose some classic literary works and movies which are representative and familiar to literature lovers, then I will use the research methods of comparative analysis and carefully text-reading to demonstrate the view below: In the teaching of using movie to assist literature, adapted movies make literary works half or completely beyond recognition and make literary connotations changed because of the existence of Creative Treason. We can guide students'interest with the help of movie, but we must point out the differences between them clearly. The final teaching must return to text and literary reading should be advocated. The main part of this thesis will start from theme, plot, person, background, structure and director's individual will and combine them with specific literary works :Iliad, The Miserable World, A Letter from an Unknown Woman, The French Lieutenant's Woman and Oliver Twist to find out the examples of Creative Treason from literary texts to movies. Also I will think over the reasons of those changes and in order to take attention to Creative Treason. The important point of this analysis is the missing and impacts which are brought to original works'connotations and spirits by adapted movies, and it is not focus on arguing which way is the better one. In the end, I hope this will supply some references and suggestions to college's Foreign Literature teaching.
