The Phonological Study Of Lengshuijiang Dialect In Hunan Province

Lengshuijiang City is located in the middle of Hunan Province and at the north of Zijiang River.Lengshuijiang was belonging to Xinhua County for a long time,and did not resume until the city formed in 1969.The city's total area is 439 square kilometers.It is one-eighth of the total area of Xinhua County.So,people rarely pay attention to Lengshuijiang dialect,and it is also lack of systematic in-depth study.It is lack of relevant information in the extreme.On the basis of investigating in the locality,we mainly describe the phonetic system of Lengshuijiang dialect and divide Lengshuijiang dialect into several districts.In addition,a comparison will be made among Lengshuijiang City dialect and the peripheral dialects,such as Xinhua County dialect and Lianyuan City dialect.On basis of the discussion of the attribution problem of Lengshuijiang City dialect,we also analyze and explain a number of important phenomena of Lengshuijiang City dialect pronunciation,which will fill the study gap of Lengshuijiang City dialect.The full thesis falls into six parts altogether.The Introduction Part shows us the geography,the history,the population,the condition of language uses of Lengshuijiang City briefly. It also introduces the present studies on Lengshuijiang City dialect and the emphasis and the main purpose of our research. The first chapter describes an account of the Phonetic system,the features of initial consonant,compound vowel and tone of Lengshuijiang City dialects.The second chapter describes and analyses literary reading and colloquial reading and the main dialect pronunciation features through the description of initial consonant,vowel,tone depiction.The third chapter is the syllabary of Lengshuijiang City dialect.The fourth chapter sketches the contours of the inside difference of Lengshuijiang City dialect and divides it into several districts.The fifth chapter compares the differences among Lengshuijiang City dialect,Xinhua County dialect and Lianyuan City dialect in order to probe into the attribution problem of Lengshuijiang City dialect,and the phoneme features of Lengshuijiang City dialect.
