The National Christian Council Of China During The War Of Resistance Against Japan

Diverse Christian sects were not united after being brought into China until 1922 when the National Christian Council of China was founded.I try to excavate the effect the National Christian Council of China had under the specified period on war relief,the anti-Japan attitude and the development of the Christianity of China.This article is divided into four parts.The first part outlines the foundation and the function of the National Christian Council of China,which was founded based on the China Continuation Committee.The main function of it was to promote the development of the Christianity of China.The second part discusses the anti-Japan attitude of the National Christian Council of China,whose attitude was not unchanged.After Lugouqiao Accident,the National Christian Council of China quit the peaceful measure to save the nation and advocated resisting against Japan with weapons.The change of its anti-Japan attitude had a great impact on the whole Christians,and won supports on public opinions.The third part focuses on the war relief work launched by the National Christian Council of China.The National War Relief Committee was founded shortly after Lugouqiao Accident by the National Christian Council of China and other Christian groups,relieving the refugees,the children and the wounded soldiers who suffered much because of the war,and the refugees from Europe,and so on.The war relief work of the National Christian Council of China was greatly appreciated by the Chinese,at the same time provided much to itself.The last part outlines the newly-launched Christian work,one was to further mutual relationship between churches and alumni,the other is to open the cooperation in Christian affairs among the churches in West China.Although new,the two Christian affairs did much good to China Christian development in West China.The four parts give a clear idea that the National Christian Council of China played an active role during the War of Resistance against Japan,and made a major contribution to the development of China's Christian.
