After the World Warâ…¡,the suburbanization in the United States accelerated, which led to the second explosive growth of the suburban population and a new stage of suburban development. An important contributing factor to such change is the appearance of "baby boomers",which is the first generation to have grown up in the suburban areas, and whose life has been an issue of concern to US academia. The surge of baby-boomer migration to the suburbs prompted the rapid growth of postwar suburbanization in the United States. The predominantly middle class suburban life of the whites not only created good environments for baby-boomer's growth, but also played an important role in shaping their worldview and values. With the processing of aging of this generation, some of them choose to move back into the cities, while others choose to remain in the suburbs.Such a situation poses a trying challenge to the development of suburban areas in the United States.By integrating the "baby-boomer" generation with the US suburban problems, this paper attempts to discuss the effect of baby boomers on suburban life and suburban life's important influence on the growth of "baby boomers".
