The period,from 1949 to 1966,was known as "Seventeen Years" of the history of Chinese film.The "Seventeen Years" was the first stage of film development after the founding of New China.As times changed,the film development of New China was well prepared from all aspects,such as ideology,policy,organization,and material,it can be said that the film of the "Seventeen Years" ushered great opportunities for development from the very beginning.The "Seventeen Years" is unique:at that time because of the victory of Chinese revolution and social transformation,the country was still in a state of near-closed with the outside world.Relations with the Soviet Union would be broken after a brief friendship,making us have to give up the idea of promoting film industry and face alone the severe challenge of exploring the film development.Therefore,the advance of the Chinese film was difficult and tortuous in this period.As written by Shu Xiaoming,in whose book Zhong Guo Dian Ying Yi Shu Jiao Cheng the opening words referred to the same period-"Seventeen Years" film has gone through a tortuous process of development and the process can be summed up as four-ups and four-downs.There have been four flourishing periods of development,or prosperous periods,and they are:the rapid development of the early nation-building,the development of pre-and post-1956,the peak of the 50's in 1959 and early 60's development.It was also said to be "three and a half," because the early 60s had not yet reached the climax,and it was soon aborted.[1]The words above are the high-degreed summary to the period of film history.To a clear understanding of this period,we have to introduce from kinds of aspects impacting the film development:the adjustment of film policy,film theory and film production development.To the "three and a half" climaxes of "Seventeen Years" the film development,I am more interested in the so-called "half" climax,namely:the period of the film development from June 1961 to December 1963.Doomed fragmentary more interesting than the complete,while reading the paragraph above,I am thinking:Since the development will have on the meaning of the climax,and during this period what has been achieved of Chinese national film industry in the end? However,only half a climax,what are the reasons for making the half climax fail to complete continue? If the half climax continued to grow,what would be a scene of Chinese national film industry? Therefore,my articles have had on this.This article is divided into three parts:introduction,main body and conclusion.The part of introduction is a general summary of the incidents of Chinese film, occurred in the period of June 1961 to December 1963(the period of half climax), summarized from the aspects of historical background,system construction and so on. Based on the recognition that the incidents of Chinese film belong to the scope of "Seventeen Years" film,I have proposed the meaning and keynote of this article:State the film incidents before and after this period in a style of historical presentation,and sort out the developmental context and track of "Seventeen Years" film.Focus on interpretation:During the period of half climax,the complex relations between the film and Chinese society,economy and politics;At this time the film's achievements and the future impact on the Chinese national film industry.The part of main body contains two structures.Structure one-namely:the adjustments of film policy.It includes three parts:the background of the adjustments of film policy;policy adjustments-meetings and speech;"8 rules of art" and "32 rules of film".Structure two-namely:the achievements of the film industry.It also includes three parts:the development of film theory;the popularity of film culture;the development of film production.The development of the film production is divided into two major parts. Part one-namely,the diversity and integrity of film subject.The development and achievements of Chinese films,during the period of half climax,are described mainly from the specific content,in a way of historical presentation and in six subject matters. The six subjects are:a variety of historical revolution subjects;innovation of military subjects;highlights of literature adaptation subjects;recovery of real-life subjects; prosperity of minorities film subjects;achievements of stage arts subjects.Part two-namely:the exploration of "language system of national film".It includes three aspects:the keynote of socialist realism;the combination of traditional art and film art; reflecting the real character in real life.Mainly based on the contents of the previous section,and through the discussion of the expression form of film production during this period,a final conclusion was found- It was the achieved results in content and form of Chinese film production during the period of half climax that brought about the final outcome:A unique "language system of national film" has developed from spontaneously to consciously,and has gradually formed and been mature.Finally,conclusion comes.The main point is an expression of my own opinions about the development of Chinese film during the period of half climax.
