On The Theoretical Exploration Of Calligraphic Music Creation

This thesis will aesthetically contrast and study music belonging to auditory arts and calligraphy belonging to visual arts by analytical method and synthetic method ,exploratorily integrate them with each other, and construct and form a new art form---Calligraphic Music. On the basis of the establishment of the conception of Calligraphic Music, this thesis will then illustrate its creative theories, and attempt to go on with the creative practice towards calligraphic music works. aimed at carring forward theart of calligraphy, enriching the creation of music works. Therefore, New source of inspiration will be created in the development of modern music and calligraphy. Details are as follows:Chapter 1. Similarity between art of calligraphy and art of music. This chapter includes 2 parts. This chapter will analyze classification of art, respective essential characters and particular expressive elements of music and calligraphy, and thereby locate the similarity between calligraphy and music, namely the immanent commoness between them, and create the basic conditions for their integration.Chapter 2. Integration between art of calligraphy and art of music. On the basis of conjecture towards " Muo Yue" , revelation of "Theory of Modal Intermediary of Life" and discovery of "Law of the Corresponding Synaesthesia", this chapter will discuss the possibility of their integration and consequently educe the establishment of the concept of "Calligraphic Music" and illustrate the characteristic of "Calligraphic Music".Chapter 3. Basic creative knowledge and creative methods. This chapter will discuss the statement of the basic creative knowledge of Calligraphic Music, exploration into the creation methods and the creative process, establishing the corresponding synaesthesia between elements of music and elements of calligraphy, and locating the concrete creative methods of Calligraphic Music.Chapter 4. Creative demonstration of a calligraphic music work. This chapter will analyze the creation of the concrete calligraphic music work--- "Han Shi" Poetry, to bring forth the creative process of Calligraphic Music.
