Oil painting and Christianity relates in a wonderful way for a long time. Both are imported. Christianity has gone through a hard and devious process to merge with Chinese traditional thinking and culture and completed spreading and rooting in aspects of thinking, doxy, philosophy, word view and etc, and makes itself an important part of modern thinking and culture. Its culture and spirits influences modern Chinese culture psychological structure, way of thinking, tastes and sentiment, individual thinking and conscience, spirit visage and philosophy, Art and religion itself has certain similarities. "The highest religious level is an art realm, as the highest artistic level, is a religious realm", "Art and religion belong to the same ideal, emotional areas, in the purpose of recognizing, both religious and artistic pursue the pleasure of concepts rather than material satisfaction, and explore perfection, harmony and lofty realm." Oil painting as such an alien art species, landed up in China and developed for hundred years, has been integrated into the spiritual life of Chinese people, and has become increasingly sophisticated in the subject matter content, aesthetic taste, presentation and other aspects.This article uses contemporary Chinese painting as the main body of study. Through analysis, we have found Christian culture has enriched the language of painting since the reform and opening up. Christian culture also enriched the contests of the works, as well as provides the right direction for artists' value construction. Christianity is not only the first leader in Chinese oil painting, but also Chinese contemporary oil paintings revelator.
