The frequent depiction of brotherhood relationships appearing in the work, whether intimate or indifferent, conveys mostly the sad scenery of brotherhood conflict which deserves our special concern.What I intend to do is to pick four typical pairs of brothers, namely the two Yans(Yan Dawei ,Yan Dayu),the two Lous(Lou Beng,Lou Zan);the two Dus(Du Qian,Du Yi)the two Tangs(Tang You,Tang Shi)-and analyze the underlying causes of brotherhood conflict through these characters'divergence in behavior ,temper as well as life interest.The following article is also intended for a better understanding of the wounding effect on the author Wu Jingzi brought along by the combining force of the then social background ,family tradition and individual factor as we explore the elements fueling the brotherhood conflict. After getting the outline of the causes and consequences of their conflict, we will further find out what the link is between sacrificing TaiBo and the brotherhood conflict beneath the surface.
