The traditional spoken language teaching methods are hard to achieve fluency and accuracy in real time communication; the communicative approach which strongly emphasizes authentic and appropriate language use can lead to a lack of necessary grammatical knowledge and the ability to compose sentences. According to some linguists, prefabricated language especially sentence builders can solve this problem and keep balance in grammar structure method and communicative method. As fluency and accuracy are the ultimate goal of oral language, this thesis focuses on the relationship between sentence builders and Chinese students'oral fluency and accuracy. Through experiments, in which an experimental group of college students are compared with students in a control group by SPSS, it is found that, though the development of fluency and accuracy is very complicated, sentence builders can facilitate the oral fluency and to some extent accuracy, and then it convinces us what Arevart & Nation(1991) said"fluency is a trainable skill in language use".
