In the Ming Dynasty, Buddhism entered the wane period of its self-development. And in this term, the background of the history and the cultural just provides a fertile soil for the developing which the three religions united as a basic pattern that Confucianism was still the center, at same time, it continued integration with the assisting of Buddhist phase.As one of the four most famous monks in the late Ming Dynasty, Ou-yi Zhi-xu was committed to rehabilitate and improve Buddhism in such a historical background. In this paper, it will embody five aspects: the amendment of the nature with the karma, right and wrong, self-cultivation example, Tao and Honest, profound implication all along through The direct interpretation of The Doctrine of the Mean which was a book written by Zhi-xu. In order to elucidate Zhi-xu's thought tendency was assisted Confucianism into Buddhism, took Confucianism and Buddhism together, as well as meditated theoretically, and turned towards the Pure Land.This thesis divided into four aspects mainly: Firstly, it briefly introduces the writing background and purpose of The direct interpretation of The Doctrine of the Mean, and analyzing the theoretical origin of this book which writes by Zhi-xu.Secondly, it demonstrates the content and connotation of The direct interpretation of The Doctrine of the Mean. It takes the text as standpoint and assists by the relative ideas and works to describe the three parts of mind which elaborate in the book by Zhi-xu, they are the nature combines cultivate, the cultivate suits the nature, and the nature have the good. Through this, unearth the further thought of the writer in the book.Thirdly, focus on the text, it discusses the meaning and significance, also contains the character which reflected from the book. The main point is assisting Confucianism into Buddhism, took Confucianism and Buddhism together, as well as meditated theoretically, and turned towards the Pure Land. In the develop tendency of the Buddhism at late Ming dynasty and early Qing dynasty, this is very obvious, it also is the most basic root of Zhi-xu's thought.At last, compares the Zhi-xu with Yangming, then give a look that in the background of the age, Confucianism and Buddhism are getting advantage from each other. Because of this tendency, absorbing the idea of the other party is the basic which for Buddhism itself tending toward perfection.
