The rising of the west-route army of the Chinese workers and peasants red army was closely linked to the current situation. In October 1936, the three central military committee met, and then crossed the yellow river into Hexi corridor, in order to combine with the Ningxia war of first division of the red army. After the failure of the Ningxia war, the west-route army went into Xinjiang deeply, began to acceptance the help of Masco. Because all kinds of reasons, the west-route army lingered in Hexi corridor about five months, which delayed the time of fighting advance, caused the west-route almost annihilated finally. The paper used the way of causal analysis, analyzed the reasons of the west-route army lingering in the Hexi corridor. The time and place of the help of Moscow were changeable, which resulted in west-route army linger in Hexi corridor. The military situation in the east of the yellow river was intense; the military commission changed the task of the west-route army frequency, which was another reason of the west-route army lingering in the hexi corridor. The main leader made a fault decision, which was the direct reason. The west-route army was at disadvantages position in opportunity, favorable geography, the number of armies, the tactics application, the basis of people, and the logistic supply, but these factors can't cause the failure of the west-route army definably. The relate cause of the west-route's failure was the lingering in Hexi corridor, missed the chance of the war. The Communist Party of China drawed lesson from the historical tragedy, avoided the tragedy raised again in the lasting military operation.
