The culture about lotus is of ancient origin and long development, and has a profound significance in traditional Chinese culture. Lotus refined its fresh, grace, purity, and independence. It has repeatedly praised by Chinese literati because of the quality of being pure out of mud, and the character of non-drift characteristics.At the same time, it also is seen as a symbol of Buddhism, given the mysterious color, on behalf of a better embodiment of the ideal, the sustenance of the spirit of harmony between man and Heaven. Lotus is more a symbol of fertility, reproduction and marriage in our custom. As a personality long-standing symbol of the motif, there is an inseparable complex origins between lotus and the traditional culture of our country.Oil painting language is a present of the artist's own scheme and a portrayal of the true artist. It changes with the concept, filled with epoch and modern. Faced with the same subject matter of lotus flowers, the subjective awareness of different people will create different Lotus paintings. Traditional literati's paintings of flowers are the "cultural symbols" of the lotus. They don't lie in the authenticity of the performance of the lotus, but pay more attention to the cultural metaphor. The author's lotus focus on the images of "visual symbols", using the Western painting techniques which has been mastered to seek the form of oil painting, which takes the lotus as the has the carrier and has Chinese aesthetics. In this paper, through literature, research studies, comparative analysis of case studies (individual case) and so on, the author expound the full text from the seven aspects. The paper first discusses the status quo of the language of painting at home and abroad, and the painting creation of lotus combined with own creative practice as the entry point, card and analysis the development and evolution of the lotus painting language systematically from the Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. And a vertical outline about the case studies of the lotus language creative of near modern Lotus Master painting is also made. At the same time, Monet's water lily and the Western Language constitute a horizontal comparison. Then the spot of the dissertation concentrates on the personal creation of the language practice of lotus painting, from the reasons that selecting lotus as the creation subject to the thought and exploration on the problems about point, line, surface, color, strokes, mood, exercise, form and content which are induced by lotus. Seek for the language of painting personality which takes lotus as the carrier and is consistent with personal painting development. Finally, the "Lotus Dance Series" of paintings show a development and prospects of creative language, to further strengthen the concept of language, and the usage of language materials in oil paintings.The oil painting language research which takes lotus as the carrier is a succession on the basis of an innovation of lotus painting in our country. Through the summary and feedback of the practice of the arts, a new form of expression is provided for the lotus oil painting language, and research ideas also be provided for the approach of oil painting language of other themes.
