Code-switching in the second language classroom is an issue which has drawn critical debates among researchers in the area of language teaching. Some researchers suggest that the target language (TL) should be the only medium of instruction in the second language classroom and they are worried that the use of the first language (L1) might deprive students of valuable TL input. This viewpoint is also implied in some teaching methodologies. in teaching methodologies. However, research has discovered the Code-switching has widely applied to the language classroom. A number of researchers agree the cautious and principled use of the L1 which they think might facilitate the TL learning.Based on the observation and follow-up study, the present paper agree the positive effect of the use of code-switching in second language teaching. In addition, previous research is limited to the study of English teaching, and there is no other the empirical study of the second language of minority students. Therefore, the present thesis focuses on the code-switching in the second language learning of Uygur students. The follow-up study are carried out among several selected colleges and universities. A case study of discourse acts in the Chinese language classroom which focuses on the characteristics, function of the code-switching in the interaction between teachers and students is conducted through classroom observation, sound recording and a questionnaire survey. The follow-up pragmatic analysis was carried out based on the collected corpus. The result shows that the code-switching in the language teaching plays an active role in the second language teaching.The thesis consist of five parts:Part I:The main contents of the classroom for language code-switching phenomenon of the problem, Research papers, research methods, as well as the author of the thesis of innovation and the inadequacies of the self-assessment.Part II:Through the language of the classroom and the daily life of the phenomenon of code-switching contrast differences, analysis of the University of the language classroom code-switching characteristics.Part III : Language classroom on the University of the functions of code-switching:Teaching function, meta-language function and communication function.Part IV:Introduced the academic community on the code-switching on the impact of second language teaching in two different views ,as well as the author on this issue to explore further.Part V:From the perspective of pragmatics a comprehensive analysis of code-switching, language designed to code-switching in the classroom to find justifications.
