The reasons why the essay takes the narrative techniques of Wang Xiao-bo's Novels as the research subject are as follows:I. Wang Xiao-bo attaches great importance to the narration of novels;II. The distinctive narrative features displayed in his novels;III. The randomness and excessiveness of literary criticism is avoided;IV. The existing exploration of narrative techniques of Wang Xiao-bo's novels done by the literary critic, to some extent, shows the value of the study on the narrative techniques of Wang Xiao-bo's Novels.According to this essay, the researchers have studied narrative features of Wang's novels from different angles such as Post-modernism, Meta-fiction, Polyphonic novel, Games, Defamiliarization etc, as a result of which the scope and depth of the research are both expanded. However, there are also some problems hidden behind the findings made to date. One problem is the research is confined to just some single novel and based on analyzing only the parts and details of the narrative features. As a result, it is impossible to make a complete summary of all the works written by a writer in the study of narrative features,as well as to realize the effective intercommunication between the text analysis and the author's thoughts as a writer and an intellectual.The article integrates all his novel texts as an organic whole and then verifies the existing of the stable narrative rules implied in Wang's novels by the means of induction, moreover, illustrates the literature and culture meanings showed in the rules. The author holds that there are relatively stable narrative patterns in Wang's novels.I. The time/space mode of the narrative perspective provides flexible conversion of the narrative perspective in the exploration of his art creating.II. The hunt/escape mode of the story plot implies the complicated relationships among the knowledge, power and depression in modern society which born with the knowledge and power.III. The torture/ abused mode in the narrative scene shows how the society consolidates the existing order by skillfully use of the concealed punishment and education style and the violent method. Various kinds'narrative patterns as a whole shows the profound thought of the writer, his intellectual stand and the outstanding narrative abilities of the novelist.
