Jelinek is a highly controversial Austrian writer. She could be the subject of debate for two main reasons. Firstly, Jelinek disobeys traditional literature and traditional cultural customs. The point of her article refers to sex, violence and the theme of inequality between men and women. She describes boldly the extreme distortions of human nature by social old customs to express women's suppression and anger in the modern totalitarian daily life. Secondly, her works hold a distinct political attitudes. Jelinek's writing is to a great extent to show her definite political position and she has been writing to their extremes. As a writer, she has always maintained the attitude to speak of social reality and the judgment of reality and courage. She treats her novel creation as her tools to challenge the totalitarian authority to find the secret existence which is sheltered by power, information, history, gender and a variety of cultural and ideological symbols.Jelinek won the Nobel Literature Prize in 2004. Regarding her works, the Nobel commendation reads as follows:"She has one kind of infrared-like euphemistic sound wave that describes and exposes the hidden civilization". Jelinek is good at penetrating into society to discover the irregular unique status in the real world. What's more, she can be able to comprehend that unusual pattern of survival is actually the most essential status for a man.Michel. Foucault reveals the secret place of civilization through the network relations of authority. He always resists the power system of modern society in the life. He believes that power is a kind of relationship which is a polymorphous and mobile field and is made up of various forces. In the past, people had always thought of power just as one kind of thing. If a person could have the sovereignty just like to have some kind of commodity or property , he is able to use this power to rule and control other people. Foucault believes that there is only a relationship of power which presents itself on the innumerable spots with uncertainty, rather than one kind of thing that somebody may posess. In his opinion, the ubliquitous authority relations constitute a mutual interlaced network and penetrate into all aspects of social life just like blood vessels . It enters the fabric of society, embedded in people's actions, attitudes, words and their initial study and general life. The present paper attempts to use Foucault's theory of power to interpret Jelinek's novels and explore the inherent and inevitable connection between sex and power through the selective analysis of "The Piano Teacher" and "Lust" . What's more , this article attempts to argue that sex is not only the image of power and the result of the operation of power, but also the conditions of the operation of power. Through the analysis of "The Good Times Better" and "Ah, Wilderness", Jelinek's beautiful and life-style writing about political relations emerges. In terms of the correspondences we can prove Foucaultian theory about the realitionship between political and power that we are in the political struggle all the time and the goal is to change the power relations.
