Research On Liszt Music Thought

Franz Liszt (1811-1886) was Hungary renowned pianist, composer, critic and music thinker, creator of symphonic poem and piano sole concert as well as the leader of romantic music in the 19th century.In the history of European music development in the 19th century, Liszt preoccupied on important and special position. His outstanding contributions in many aspects have had a profound influence on the western music culture development at that time and even there after. A great man's thought is not only time-marked, it can also surpass the time, as was the case with Liszt. Therefore, with regard to our music cultural reconstruction today, it is still profitably significant to hackle this great person's music thought, summarize its value and limitation and inherit this rich cultural heritage critically.This article is mainly based on the organization and analysis of the literature and profits from the relevant research outcome to pay full attention to the shaping significance given to Liszt's music thought by the time, society and culture with a view to hackle his music creation and criticism systematically in the existing information and analyze its substantive characteristics objectively. The whole article consists of three parts, namely, "the time and cultural background in which Liszt lived"; "Liszt music creation view" and "Liszt's music criticism view".As one kind of historical cultural phenomenon, its origin should be inquired about from the viler of the time development. The first part of the article introduces the time and cultural background in which Liszt lived as well as his general situations in life.Liszt's music activity in life mainly concert rates on the music creation, piano performance and music criticism, in which his achievements are the most outstanding, and have a great influence upon the music development. In the second and third parts, the article tries elaborating historical data to develop his vital thought in the aspects of music creation and criticism, which is also the core of the article.In the conclusion, based on the study product of the whole article, it points out several problems confronted with during the research of Liszt's music thought, and it also touches that the research of this topic waits for further deepening.
