In the process of modernization, the traditional culture, in what manner that continuity and heritage, and to play a role in modern culture, has always been a rich cultural tradition of the countries had to face. In this regard, the first to enter Japan as a modern country in the East, no doubt let the world recognized and has made amazing achievements. From the Meiji Restoration, they have always been able to absorb Western civilization in a wide range of nutrition at the same time, be able to preserve and develop their own traditional culture and always be able to integrate the two, thereby creating both modern and has its own culture and flavor of the new the cultural style.In this paper, public art perspective, the Japanese public in the environment or the formations of modern stone carving (in stone as a medium of landscaping) as the theme to explore the development of public art in Japan is how Western modern art, especially abstract art under the influence of step by step to get out out, showing another style of a modern form of mental or intrinsic characteristics of Japanese culture works. Then, in the contemporary, these outstanding heritage and culture is how can the development of modern public art in China, to create a modern formations whether the ancient traditions with a link, its quality and how? To this end, this paper aimed at Beijing in the formations of modern public art works conducted an investigation in order, to identify problems, explore ways to address these issues and put forward improvement measures. And to seek from the cultural study of comparative sense, through the Japanese public art related to formations created by the analysis and study can explore with the enlightenment of modern public art and draw meaningful ways.
