The Survey And Compiling Of The Self-talk Scale

Self-talk is a specifical speech for human being,which has an directly effect on behavior and affect.. Vygotsky highlight the mediation role of self-talk between social speech and inner speech in children. since Vygotsky's work "thought and language"published,there were many psychologist become interested in this area, and they have done so much on self-talk. Compared to western, only a few theoriest discussed about the use of self-talk in education,the empirical study of self-talk is scare in china. So we aimed to develop a self-talk scale.Based on the literature review, the open-question survey, and expert's advice, the author developed a model of self-talk structure, and collected some items which applied to college students. Exploratory factorial analysis of the trial questionnaire and the confirmatory factorial analysis of the formal questionnaire were conducted during the development of self-talk scale.The validity and reliability test in several dimensions were also implemented.the results are as follows.1. The self-talk is consisted of three dimension, that is self-critical, self-management, self-encouragement.2. The validity and reliability test showed that the questionnaire has high internal consistency reliabilitym content validity, and criterion validity, which could be applied as the college students'self-talk scale.3. The self-talk scale is a useful tool to assess the frequency and the difference of individuals.
