Hong Ying, a contemporary women writer in Britain, is famous for her fiction writing at home and abroad. She is also an outstanding poet. But few researchers concern about that. This paper examines a comprehensive process of Hong Ying's poetry writing and the background of its creation, to discuss the surrealism breakout of her poetry writing.Chapter One mainly describes Hong Ying's poetry writing and creative background to provide with comprehensive and systematic overview and a visual impression.Chapter Two is divided into four parts:the relevant discussions and topics, the starting point, the end result and ways to explore the surrealism breakout of Hong Ying's poetry. This chapter focuses on the starting point, including Hong Ying's poetry reference from western surrealism poetry in its topic, ideas and techniques; and the end result, whose representation is returning to Chinese traditional culture spirit, and with a writing state of no emotion which corresponds to the Anatman thinking way of Chinese classical poetics tradition. All these provide a mystery atmosphere of surrealism.Chapter Three indicates the significance of Hong Ying's poetry surrealism from marginal and experimental aspect.Using scanning and comparative analyzing method, this paper tries to prove that Hong Ying's poetry writing offers a surrealism writing method, which also provides a case study of the newborn surrealism poetry creating group in China.
