The Study On Documentary Photography Under The Influcence Of Realistic Painting

Photography drawing lessons from western painting is diverse, not only in the subjects and manifestation, but also in the concepts of aesthetic style and creative methods. Documentary photography is the most realistic art style. It persists in the development from the reality, the real and reflecting the reality, with the help of "realism" technics. Realistic photography and realistic painting have a natural link, which stems from the common understanding of positivism and realism.The style of documentary photography determines its creative concepts and methods, that is, using the spirit of realism painting and creative methods to achieve its value. The spirit of realism paintings requires the authors to have a strong sense of social consciousness, cultural awareness, spiritual consciousness and mission and responsibility. Realism should be able to inspire social creation forward, reveal social problems, and have a strong social criticism and humanistic care. Realism as a creative approach and artistic spirit should have a strong historical mission and the reality of the mission. The typical realistic style is that:select reality theme, select the typical person in the typical environment, calm, objectively show some small but detailed, and the critical reality.This paper will introduce from the following three aspects to analyze how documentary photography utilized the western painting as well as the new changing.Firstly, the master thesis traced interconnection of the early development of photography and western painting from the view of history of western photography. It also detailed represented the two paths of photography:documentary photography and art photography. Secondly, it will utilize the comparative studies and text analysis; state the influence of realism painting on the documentary photography; analyze documentary photography as a realistic visional style; and further describe the realism as a foundation of documentary photography as well as the lessons learn from the realistic spiritual concepts and social significance. Thirdly, this section will describe the trends of personalization and subjectification of documentary photography. Lastly, it will discover the differences between documentary photography and conceptual photography and art photography.This article attempts to systematically analyze the documentary photography as a realistic visual style.
