In the history of traditional Chinese painting, Chinese portraitures have created systemic traditional Chinese painting theories by practice, accumulated colorful technical skills, and formed aesthetics system that has its unique aesthetic perception, promoting the development of Chinese portraitures, through endless research by painters in various dynasty. "Technical skills in ink and wash should follow different times". The development of times and multiculturalism have had new requirement and issue for the transform and creation of current portraitures in ink and wash. How to understand "Technical skills in ink and wash should follow different times", and how to develop Chinese portraitures to advance with the times? Discussing and coping with this issue, is obligatory duty for our painters who are doing research in Chinese portraitures, and also the paper's objective. I have collected and sorted out kinds of written historical materials and images, by studying in terms of origins and development of Chinese portraitures from ancient times to the present, analyzed and compared their differences based on historical facts, typical events and famous painters'representative artworks in various dynasty, studied in side of the structure in ink and wash of Chinese portraitures and written this paper, in purpose of having a new acknowledgement and understanding of aesthetics and creation in structure in ink and wash in current Chinese portraitures, as well as having useful action in its development, expecting to get some favorable effects and beneficial enlightenment from this paper.
